Join us for a weekend full of military history with re-enactors spanning from the turn of the 19th century and beyond.
Sir Francis Rawdon Hastings, the owner, and funder of the furnace, served himself in the American wars of independence, connecting our site directly to the military history of the world. The iron produced in the furnace’s short working life was used in the production of arms and munitions.
Re-enactors will be camping on-site from Friday until Sunday with the museum and boat open as normal.
For the little ones, we will be running an Easter Trail on Easter Sunday, which can be purchased from the museum shop.
